Historical Crafterdays!

Combining crafts and local history, this hands-on session is a fun way for families to delve into Royston’s past. A fun chance for kids and their adults to get creative together and uncover local stories. As well as crafts, there’ll be a trail around the museum and some ideas to take home to carry on the crafty fun. Each session is just £3 per child (adults are free) and run from 10.30 – 12. There’s no need to book, just drop in anytime and join in.

2017 Historical Crafter dates:

Saturday 14th October – Local Folklore. Uncover some strange local stories – why were Hertfordshire people known as hedgehogs?

Saturday 11th November – Get artistic as we learn about local artist E. H. Whydale. Take a look at some of his paintings that are on display in the museum and find out how well liked he was in the town.

Saturday 9th December – How has the Winter been welcomed and celebrated throughout history? Take away ideas for family games, quizzes and recipes published in old editions of the Royston Crow newspaper.
