Research Enquiries

If you are doing a school project, some family history, or maybe you just love old photos and local history, then why not get in touch with us. We can help with your local history queries about Royston and its surrounding villages.

Research Enquiries

Our team of research volunteers have a range of sources available to them including local newspapers, books, photographs and documents.

We regularly deal with local history enquiries related to:

  • prominent people from Royston’s past
  • local shops and businesses
  • schools
  • local landmarks
  • nearby villages

Copies of documents and photographs can be made and charges range from £1.50 - £8.50 depending on the size of the copy and whether the item is in colour or black and white. If you need us to post any copies, a fee is payable for postage and packing.

Some of our documents may be too delicate to copy but photographs can be taken of these.

We also aim to direct you to other resources that might be available to help you with your query, including local history societies, libraries, archives and museums.

Our service is free however, we are grateful for any donations you can make to the museum.

If you would like us to carry out research for you or if you would like to visit the museum to carry out your own research, please contact enquiries@roystonmuseum.org.uk or ring (01763) 242587
